Elanora State School offers many wonderful sporting opportunities for the students throughout the year.

Cross Country Carnivals- Prep to Year 6.

Athletics Carnivals- Prep to Year 6.

Swimming Carnival- Years 4 to Year 6.

Interschool Sport- Years 5 and Year 6. Interschool sport is offered twice throughout the year. The Winter season runs in semester 1 and the Summer season runs in semester 2.

Winter Season Interschool Sport options- Rugby League, Netball,  AFL and Girls Oztag. Students also have the opportunity to select alternative activities including Surfing. Our students are coached by the Frothing Grommet surf coaches at Currumbin Alley. This is predominantly a ‘learn to surf’ program using foam boards. Students must pass a proficiency test to be eligible for the program. Group numbers are capped at 24, which means Year 6 students in their final year of primary school are given first preference.

Summer Season Interschool Sport options- Girls Touch football, Boys Oztag, Cricket, Tee-ball, Basketball, Surfing and Yoga.

Year 4 intra-class sport -Students take part in an intra-class competition on Friday afternoons. Throughout the year, students will compete in Tee-ball, Basketball, Touch AFL and modified games. We change the focus each term to reflect the various sports these students will be offered when they compete in inter-school sport in grades 5 and 6.

Sporting Schools- Elanora utilise this government initiative to secure funding to take part in various sporting programs.

Gala days - Elanora are involved in numerous sporting GALA days throughout the year including AFL Queensland Cup, NRL 9’s, and Oztag Schools challenge.
