The National Assessment Program — Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests were first implemented in 2008. Students in Years 3 and 5 are tested in the areas of numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
The NAPLAN tests are designed to assess the skills of students in literacy and numeracy.

Reading - comprehension.
Elanora State School has always been a high performing in NAPLAN. Our results show that our Year 3 and 5 student have performed above the National cohort in Reading, Writing, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy.

At Elanora we strive to engage our students in both social and competitive sporting events and carnivals. Students compete in Cross Country, Athletics and Swimming events throughout the year. Our senior students have the opportunity to compete in the Gold Coast South Interschool Sport competitions throughout semester 1 and 2. As a school there is nothing more rewarding than seeing our students succeed in the sporting arena and sharing these experiences with their friends.
