Elanora is justifiably proud of our record of academic achievement. Given the diversity of our student clientele and a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds, these successes have been the result of a coordinated and planned approach to curriculum delivery.

Our ongoing success has been based on the following key tenets:

  • High expectations for all groups of students;

  • Relentless approach to achieving success;

  • Establishment and promotion of a performance culture;

  • A belief by all staff that student achievement can and will be improved through explicit teaching and focussed learning episodes;

  • An understanding that teachers can make a difference and that all students can engage in higher order learning;

  • A strong commitment by all that literacy development is everybody’s business and is embedded in the teaching of all key learning areas;

  • A solid understanding and support for teacher professionalism;

  • A rejection of the “one size fits all” model.

The team approach is pivotal to the successful development and delivery of the various quality school programs.

Our professional development agenda at Elanora ensures that all staff have the necessary skills to deliver quality programs within their classrooms.

Term overviews are developed by each year level team through a process of careful consultation between all class teachers for that year level. Each overview will include all the key learning areas.

Specialist teachers have also embedded their overviews into each year level's document.
