Elanora State School is proud to offer a Chaplaincy service that supports the wellbeing of our school community. This program operates within government guidelines and provides support across three key areas: social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
The Chaplaincy service is available to students, families and staff, and is based within the school’s Student Wellbeing Hub. Access to the Chaplain can be arranged through the school office.
Supporting student wellbeing is a key priority at Elanora State School. The Chaplain works alongside the Student Wellbeing Team, including the Guidance Officer, to provide a supportive, approachable presence for students. This may include assisting students to navigate challenges such as friendships, peer relationships, self-esteem, family changes and other personal concerns.
The Chaplaincy service also contributes to building strong connections within the school and wider community. Through collaboration with local organisations and support networks, the program helps connect families with appropriate services when needed.
Our Chaplaincy program is further strengthened by the support of volunteers and community partners who contribute to school initiatives and events throughout the year.

The last word from our chaplain:I have been the Elanora School Chaplain since August 2022. My role within the school consists of social, emotional and spiritual support for students, staff and families. As mentioned above, I offer opportunities and support for students by providing a listening ear, caring presence and message of hope. I collaborate with our student wellbeing department. I support students through situations such as confusing relationships , peer pressure, self-esteem issues, family breakdowns, depression, bullying and abuse. Spiritual support consists of supporting and encouraging students with whatever their passion may be. These things can be faith, sport, music, science or secular interests that they are passionate about. I also assist families within the school community who are dealing with everyday circumstances by connecting them with the local community businesses and support networks.
