Elanora State School's BYOD program enables a wide range of technology and programs to be skilfully integrated into our teaching and learning processes to support every student. Students have access to a wide range of software from Prep to Year 6 which is used in a variety of subject areas across the school.
With classroom teachers focusing on student's digital literacy, our specialist STEAM team focus on the delivery of dynamic Design and Technologies; and Digital Technologies programs from Prep to Year 6. These programs encourage student creativity, logical and lateral thinking, and the development of digital and information literacy skills.
In Design and Technologies, students use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce designed solutions for authentic needs and opportunities. They are encouraged to work collaboratively and use the design process to generate ideas, communicate their ideas and evaluate design solutions.
In Digital Technologies, students use computational thinking and information systems to define, design and implement digital solutions. Students have the opportunity to work with Bee Bots, Lego WeDo, Spheros, EV3 Mindstorm, and drones.
